ETL Operator
Key Responsibilities:
Understand the data structure and meaning in both the source business systems and the target business intelligence environment
Identify and assess data sources
Extract, transform and load functions, including: Daily customer operations data, daily - weekly automated customer feeds, etc
Design and specify source data detection and extraction processes
Create source/target mappings
Apply business rules as transformations
Perform triage
Implement navigation methods/application
Design and develop transformation code/logic/programs
Design and develop data transport and population processes
Unit test source data detection and extraction processes
Build and unit test data transformation processes
Build and unit test source data transport and population processes
Deploy systems to production, and ensure proper production operations of the ETL processes.
Data cleansing and data quality tasks:
Work with production data to monitor and report on data conditions and quality
Design data clean-up processes
Adapt ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements
Define and capture metadata and rules associated with ETL processes
Design custom customer reports
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Training: Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Software Engineering or equivalent work experience.
Business Experience: 4 years experience in performing extract, transform and load functions
Specialized Knowledge / Skills: Advanced skills in data design, logical modeling and physical implementation of relational and dimensional databases, primarily using Microsoft SQL Server.
Microsoft SQLServer is the preferred tool. Experience in other ETL tools such as Crystal Reports, Cold fusion Report Builder would be okay as well.
